As mentioned earlier, one of the reasons the layout's timeframe has been set to 1944 is to allow some freedom to model some military scenes and display them along side the layout.  All of the military models will be in 1/72 scale given there is a much wider selection of materials in that scale than HO.

I really enjoyed getting back to building some "tank" models and found it to be a nice break from pure HO scale train modeling.  Any military items that will be incorporated directly on the layout will still be HO scale.

This a small diorama of a early version Tiger I in Italy around 1994

Another look at the Tiger

This is a mockup of a 1' by 3' diorama that will be displayed next to the layout

The dio will represent a scene from the Italian campaign in August or Septemebr, 1994

The dio will have at least 5-6 allied vehicles and 2-3 German

The German armor will consist of a Tiger I and a Stug assulat gun

This was my first experirment will military modeling. All the detail parts are HO scale MRR items.
